What started as a social club for show business people in October 1927 soon became one of the most empowered children’s charities in the world. From our first child, a baby girl abandoned on the doorsteps of a theatre in Pittsburgh in 1928, to tens of thousands of children today with 52 tents, as we call our chapters, in 14 countries, Variety – The Children’s Charity continues to impact the lives of children on a daily basis.

Variety International actively provides assistance to children and their families all over the world, from Australia, Barbados, Israel, South Africa and the United States. While we’ve dropped the word “Club,” Variety – The Children’s Charity still holds strong to its original mission.

What hasn’t changed is our desire to help young people and their families to improve their quality of live. It accomplishes this by offering financial assistance and support to organizations and agencies that benefit children in need. Funding is also used to provide needed medical services or equipment for children who are seriously ill and have physical disabilities.
