Hero

Mati Metsala &
O’Shane Cooper

Each year, Variety Village welcomes over 50 co-op students from High Schools, Colleges and Universities who participate in Variety Village activities and programs.
Co-op students Mati Metsala and O’Shane Cooper are active in many Variety Village programs including the LINKS Program, Aqua fitness and yes, even salsa dancing.
Both young men are deaf, but that hasn’t stopped them from demonstrating leadership potential and from being an inspiration to program participants and Variety staff.
Through their placement at Variety, Mati and O’Shane have increased their knowledge and awareness of people with varying abilities and learned that anyone “can do anything if they put their mind to it.”
